Rebecca DiNitto LeSaffre

I wasn’t born fit. I fought for it at 40.

I’ve been where you are.

I was a smoker, and let’s just say being active was not my first priority.

My journey to fitness began in my early 40’s. I was living a pretty unhealthy lifestyle, smoking, not exercising and eating junk food. After the birth of my second kid, I started getting migraines, was depressed, had serious anxiety and generally felt horrible.

I had heard that this “exercise thing” was helpful, so I decided to give it a shot, I mean, what did I have to lose?

Well as it turned out it was a life changing for me. Through exercise & proper nutrition, I got rid of my headaches, and felt mentally & physically stronger.

Getting fit is doable, and you deeply deserve it.

My life had changed. I was out of pain, and full of energy.

I felt confident in my skin…and not just because my body looked different, but because my self-love and self care routines had re-wired my brain to make my life a priority, and I new I wanted to help other women experience the same.

Because of this I decided to become a personal trainer so that I could help other see the benefits of exercise as I had done. I had gone from an unhealthy lifestyle of smoking, eating poorly and never exercising to becoming a certified personal trainer in 2006; starting a women’s only boot camp in 2009,  becoming a licensed Physical Therapist Assistant in 2011 and opening my own fitness studio in 2016.

Then I went ahead and turned 50!

Oh no, all I could think was “I can’t believe I’m 50, I feel so old!” Then I started to look back on my life, I remembered I had recently changed it for the better.  Despite these accomplishments, I was still feeling old. After wallowing in self-pity for a few days, I made the conscious decision to be proud of my age.

I made the conscious decision to be proud of my age.

So I made some choices.

I planned to get in the best shape of my life; be a role model to my children and prove that age was just a number by competing in the Fitness America Pageant – a body building/fitness competition.

Wearing a bikini and walking in 5-inch heels on stage was completely out of my comfort zone, but it gave me a sense of self-confidence I never had before.

In the end, I had placed in the Top 5 of my division, and can honestly say that it was one of the best experiences of my life. It gave me a sense of self-confidence I never had before. With this new found self confidence, I decided to push  myself even further & became an amateur boxer at age 54!

I still have struggles with depression and anxiety, but overall fitness has dramatically changed my life for the better. After these experiences, I realized that I wanted to inspire others to live a healthy lifestyle and achieve their fitness goals regardless of their age. It's never too late to get started on this journey, and I am here to help you.
